IT'S been two years since Irish duo Foster and Allen graced a stage in Newcastle.
And fans of the long standing act will be pleased to hear that the easy listening duo will return for a special show at ClubNova Newcastle on June 27.
For the past 27 years, Foster and Allen have remained a popular choice for fans of easy listening Irish music.
Mick Foster and Tony Allen have returned to the charts with the release of their latest album titled Sincerely. With previous album sales topping the 8million mark, Foster and Allen are sure to have another hit on their hands with Sincerely following its release in April.
Formed in 1975 while working the local music circuits of Ireland and the UK, Foster and Allen developed a sound that was to become immensely popular with listeners around the world.
That same year, the lads recorded their debut single The Rambles of Spring which went on to become a major hit in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Three years later their second record Bunch of Thyme topped the Irish charts.
They became so successful they earned an appearance on pop music program Top of the Pops in the UK.
In the 1980s the song Maggie launched their status as superstars and household names.
The track went to number one in Ireland, England, Australia and New Zealand and has remained a favourite ever since.
Success also came from South Africa and Canada and tracks such as I Will Love You All My Life and After All These Years became major hits in both countries.
Now 23 albums and 11 videos later, the duo continues in strength and regularly tours with its band, which consists of Foster and Allen, Moyra Fraser on keyboards, Ollie Kennedy on bass and Bryan O'Donnell on guitar.
Tickets to Foster and Allen are on sale at ClubNova Newcastle for $38 by calling 4926-2700.
Doors will open at 6.45pm and the concert will begin at 7.30pm.
