Butterflies Effect Escape From Pupa

Who: The Butterfly Effect, Trial Kennedy, The Common Code
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
When: Thursday October 6, 2005

AFTER an eight-month break from the road spent writing and fishing, Brisbane's The Butterfly Effect have returned to the stage to road test a swag of new songs for their planned follow-up to their debut record Begins Here. Although a couple of new songs were snuck into The Butterfly Effect's live set back in February, this will be the first chance for fans to hear a substantial new range of tracks.

The Phoenix Tour, which takes its name from the band's latest single Phoenix, began in Queensland last month and will storm into the Cambridge Hotel tomorrow night.

Phoenix was recorded in Sydney with producer Phil McKeller and displays the musical growth of the band, both as individuals and as a unit.

As the band prepares to release its as-yet- untitled album, due for release early next year, The Butterfly Effect have reached another milestone in their career.

Begins Here has been released in the US and the band will support the release with live shows and a promo tour later this year in the States, in between laying down tracks for their next album. Album producer Joe Barassi, who has worked with Queens of the Stoneage and Tool, will be at the controls through a six-week session in LA starting in November.

The Butterfly Effect will be supported by Trial Kennedy and the Common Code tomorrow night.

Tickets cost $18 plus a booking fee at the venue. Alternatively, they will cost $22 at the door on the night.
