THE lads from heavy- rock outfit Sleight of Hand are finally releasing an EP after many years honing their skills on the local live music scene.
An EP was on the cards for a while and will be launched during two upcoming shows in Newcastle.
The first will take place at the Cambridge Hotel on Friday night while a second all-ages launch will be held at Newcastle Leagues Club on November 11.
Having spent the greatest part of the year working on the EP, the four-piece holed up with renowned producer Phil McKellar (Grinspoon, Silverchair, Kisschasy) in the studio.
Heavy on groove and melody, the EP has been titled Breathe and will be officially released this Friday through Reign Records/MGM.
Once the band, comprising Benj Axwel (vox/guitar), Haff (guitar), Corey (bass) and Cruisy (drums), completes the EP launches, there are plans for a large-scale tour.
Supporting Sleight of Hand on Friday night will be Sydney band Dreamshifter and Contact Process. Doors open at 8.30pm.
Entry costs $10.
