THE rise to the top is usually a long one for many musicians.

But for Adelaide band Colourblind, it was just a matter of months before they hit the big time.

After forming in January last year, the foursome released its first single Tied two months later that went on to spend nine weeks in the South Australian top 10.

Extensive air play on Triple J did not harm its career either, and the band soon found itself touring with the likes of Blink 182, The Living End, Preshrunk and Grinspoon. Comprised of vocalist Kirsten Glover, guitarist Anthony Tucker, bass player Chris Simmons and drummer Matt Rohde, the band his hit back once again.

A tasty serving of alternative rock spills out on its debut EP Second Chance, which was released earlier this month.

To coincide with the release, the band is embarking on the nationwide Twice Bitten Tour with Melbourne band Ezekio. Colourblind will perform at SJ's Hotel in a Hothouse special on July 3.

The show starts at 10pm.
