THE best of ska from Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast will come together for the fifth instalment of Ska Trek at the Cambridge Hotel on Saturday night.
Now a regular monthly gig, Ska Trek has begun to attract some big names from the ska music world to the event.
Headlining Ska Trek Episode 5 is Rubix Cuba, which performs regularly at the show.
It will be the first time the band has headlined Ska Trek and the show will act as a warm-up for the group before it embarks on a tour of Melbourne in early March.
Adding to its blend of ska, pop, punk, funk and swing, Rubix Cuba recently recruited the skills of saxophone player Cassandra Schubert. Joining Rubix Cuba is local favourite The Pornskars, which looks set to release a much-anticipated debut EP soon.
Also on the bill is Sydney's Riot City which performs roots, ska and rocksteady beats.
Central Coast act Rated X will make its debut performance at Ska Trek and bring its brand of punk ska to the stage.
The show kicks off at 8pm and entry is $5.
