HARD rock act Chinchen will help students at Newcastle University launch into the new year with a huge gig on Tuesday afternoon.
The band will officially 'christen' the university's new outdoor stage when they share the spotlight with support act Irrelevant. 'We're playing the new outdoor stage at the uni and it's a bit of an honour, I guess. There's been a lot of good bands play out there, so that should be good,' Ben 'Dutchy' Holland said.
The show is a part of the band's Never Forever Tour which will take it throughout NSW, Queensland and Victoria before finishing up on March 2.
During the tour, Chinchen will support American act P.O.D at a show in Brisbane.
Chinchen members Holland and Robert Parkes Jr will then join The Porkers on the huge reunion Waiting For Us Tour. Chinchen will launch the new stage from noon at the Bar On The Hill in a free show.
