THE boys from Chinchen have been doing very well for themselves since they won the Newcastle University band competition in 1997.
After performing on the bill at last week's Last Chance Dance the boys will perform to a home crowd again at the Northern Star Hotel on Sunday with Dogbouy. Chinchen released its debut album Relax earlier this year and has been heavily supporting the album with constant touring around the country.
The group played recently in Melbourne and Ballarat but has mostly toured along the east coast.
'We haven't been over to Western Australia yet but at the end of the year we'll hopefully get that in,' Grant Pilon said.
But touring has not stopped the group's creativity, and Pilon said Chinchen already had a lot of new material.
'We've got new stuff already and we've just got to put it all together, but we're still pushing the album so we're going to push that a little longer.
'We've got some really cool songs for the next album so we're pretty happy with it and we're not going to run out of songs or anything.'
Pilon said the group hoped to tour Japan but for now he was looking forward to touring throughout Australia.
Chinchen recently filmed a video for the track Never Forever with MTV after being selected from a huge pool of artists.
TE has five double passes to give away to Sunday's show.
