DON'T be fooled by their appearance because new rock group Miss Radio is here to rock and prove it has a lot to offer.
Fresh from the release of its debut single Move You, Miss Radio is heading to Newcastle to perform at SJ's Hotel tonight.
The group is the first band to be signed to 301 Records and made up of two sisters Kristy and Leesa Gentz and Tameaka Fairfull, who is just 15 years old.
Like most bands, Miss Radio started out fine-tuning its sound, playing at anything from a pub to a wedding.
'We've played plenty of dodgy pub gigs and lounge bars and it's been really good for us,' Kristy said.
'Tameaka has had to say she's with the band more than a few times to be allowed in.
'But I am really grateful we have done it this way, it's more real.'
With their influences ranging from Patsy Cline to Neil Young, Leesa said Miss Radio began playing as many originals as it could.
'Tameaka had written some songs and then we all started working on writing,' Kristy said.
'When we had about 25 songs, we started recording tracks and then we started doing gigs.'
But it isn't the girls who decide which song is going to be popular.
'When they (the crowd) go nuts over one of your songs, you know it works,' Kristy said.
Joining Miss Radio for the show is funky local act Chi.
