Purplene Gearing up for LP Release

Who: Purplene
Where: Northern Star Hotel
Author: Jade Lazerevic
When: Saturday October 20, 2001

IF you have been wondering what happened to Purplene, hold that thought because the group is gearing up to release its debut LP this week and celebrate with a number of shows.

The local indie rock group will return with a show at The Northern Star Hotel on Saturday night.

Purplene has been busy recording and perfecting the album Ruining It For Everybody with producer Steve Forster, whose previous work has seen him work with Gerling and Ukiyo-e. The album was recorded on premier independent Sydney label Quietly Suburb an Recordings which the group recently signed to.

Staying true to their reputation, Purplene's new album offers a diverse range of sounds on the 11-track LP.

The album's national release on Monday follows their popular SMH Days EP and All and Sundry single.

Purplene will also make an in-store appearance at Abicus Selections on Darby Street on Sunday.

Locals Audiophile, whose bass player Adam Jesson is also a member of Purplene, will join the group at the Northern Star on Saturday.
