THEY may have just released a new single titled Misery, but for now The Gadflys are happy to take things easy and get ready for their new tour.
The group has kept a low profile throughout 2001 but has now embarked on a five-State tour and will perform at SJ's Hotel on Friday night.
'Personally, I'm looking forward to it,' guitarist and vocalist Mick Moriarty said.
'It will be good to get back to the grand final city.'
The group released its latest album Many Happy Returns last year but is yet to begin work on a follow-up.
'We've been working on side projects over the past six months just to keep ourselves amused.
'We will have a new album in the future ideally and we're looking to try and get another European tour next year.'
The group had its taste of success in Europe when they spent eight years touring Australia, Europe and the UK extensively.
'I've really missed Europe,' Moriarty said.
'We did well at the Edinburgh Festival and in Holland and Germany.'
The group will be joined by Pete Murray and his band, who have released a new EP titled D-Day. Moriarty said Gadflys fans new and old could look forward to hearing a mix of both old tracks and tracks from the new album.
TE has one copy of The Gadflys' latest album and seven double passes to the show to give away.
