DANIEL Arvidson has arguably become one of the most popular local performers this year.
His single debut Newcastle became the unofficial victory tune for the Newcastle Knights when they took out the premiership in September.
Arvidson said the track was actually meant to be released in June but due to a number of reasons, the release was delayed.
But Arvidson admits the timing could not have been better.
He will perform Newcastle and his new song at Phoenix Sports Club on Sunday in The Lounge.
The singer-songwriter released his second single Funky Thing to radio a fortnight ago.
The track probably will not cause the amount of controversy Newcastle did.
Arvidson said the new song is about trying his luck with a girl in a nightclub and that it is 'all good clean fun'.
Hitting the town is something Arvidson knows plenty about.
He has been performing in clubs and pubs around the Hunter for more than 10 years, starting out in Arvidson Price and Bliss before moving on to a successful solo career.
