Where: Newcastle Panthers
Author: Jade Lazerevic
When: Friday July 6, 2001

AUSTRALIA'S favourite cabaret singer Julie Anthony will raise the roof at Newcastle Club Nova when she performs with the Don Burrows Quartet on July 6.

Club Nova is the only venue to host the concert outside Sydney, making the performance a very special event.

The show will be the first performance given by Anthony since her stunning display at the Sydney Olympic 2000 Games, where she sang in front of the world during the opening ceremony.

Anthony is best known for her reputation as the number one choice to sing the Australian National Anthem, but she has been involved in the entertainment industry for the past 25 years.

Patrons of Club Nova will be delighted with Anthony's performance, which incorporates famous show and jazz tunes as well as old favourites.

Anthony began performing with the Don Burrows jazz quartet in 1994.

A superb instrumentalist, Burrows has established himself as one of the greatest jazz musicians in the world.

Burrows has been working in the industry for the past 56 years and was the first Australian jazz artist to win a gold record and the first to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

The show begins at 8pm and tickets are available for $27.50 each.

Tickets are selling fast and can be bought by calling Club Nova on 4926-2700.
