Although Melbourne's Elephant Gun are signed to one of Australia's major heavy rock record labels, the group is known for its melodic grooves and soaring choruses.
The four-piece group will perform at SJ's Hotel on July 26 with support from Newcastle boys Luke. The group formed in 1997 and released its self-titled EP the following year.
Albino is the latest release and has attracted a great response from both heavy metal fans and rock fans.
Elephant Gun bass player Sean Dennis says he believes the group has managed to appeal to a larger variety of fans because of its combination of rock, pop and metal.
'I think we have a real crossover sound that metal fans can relate to,' Dennis says.
The album was recorded over 10 days and produced by Kalju Tonuma who is credited for his work with artists such as 28 Days, The Mavis's and Deadstar. Lead vocalist Todd Angus says he believes that the group's album is quite melodic.
