THE new-look Valhalla have been attracting a new breed of fans to their gigs since they revamped the band with a change of name and recruited a new lead singer.

Now going by the name of Purple, the group added some colour to its line-up when lead vocalist Damien Baguley departed the group.

The remaining members have recruited the vocal chords of talented female lead singer Louise Haines, adding a fresh element to the group.

Throughout their six year history, Valhalla became one of Newcastle's most popular bands and regularly performed to enthusiastic crowds in clubs and pubs throughout the city.

The new addition of Lousie has seen the group add a new approach to their repertoire of contemporary covers.

Purple have developed a new set list combining rock classics and popular hits from artists including Killing Heidi, No Doubt, The Superjesus and Powderfinger. You can catch the original members Jochen Walter, Nathan Cayirylys and Simon Wilson with Lousie when they perform at Hotel CBD on Friday and SJ's Hotel on Saturday.
