GOLDEN Guitar winner SARA STORER will perform at the COUNTRY SHOWCASE for Club Phoenix next weekend.
Storer will be joined by fellow nominee MELINDA SCHNEIDER and Heritage Song winner BRENDON WALMSLEY on Saturday, February 24, direct from their performances at the 29th AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY MUSIC GOLDEN GUITAR awards.
The 25-year-old former school teacher won Best New Talent of the Year award for her ABC MUSIC release BUFFALO BILL, the first song she had ever written.
'It was based on a remarkable character I met when I lived in Camooweal several years ago,' Storer said.
'His stories inspired me to write my very first song, and I've just kept on writing ever since.'
Storer captured the ear of renowned country music producer GARTH PORTER after winning a scholarship to the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA'S College of Country Music.
Porter, who was responsible for launching the careers of LEE and TANIA KERNAGHAN saw the potential of Storer who had honed her craft singing around camp fires in the Northern Territory.
