DANCE fans will be treated to the skills of Australia's best DJ when breaks master Kid Kenobi takes to the decks at Nutshell Breaks this weekend.

'The Kid' received the honour of being named best Australian DJ at this year's Australian Dance Music Awards. Proving his popularity with both those in the industry and the public, Kid Kenobi also picked up the award for Peoples Choice NSW State DJ of the Year 2001.

Kid Kenobi will be joined by the equally talented Sydney breaks DJ Q45. The gig promises to finish 2001 off with a bang and will celebrate eight months of Nutshell Breaks.

Incidently, the first Nutshell Breaks which was held in May was headlined by Kid Kenobi.

The talent of both Q45 and Kid Kenobi has seen them play alongside some of the world's top breaks DJs like The Freestylers, Adam Freeland, Plump DJ's, Freq Nasty and Krafty Kuts. On Saturday night at The Cambridge Hotel, Kid Kenobi and Q45 will take on locals Auxilary and Kato in a breakbeat battle.

Local Hip Hop masters Skooby and Mathmatics will kick off the evening with a one-hour back to back showcase set.

Next year is anticipated to be even bigger with the introduction of Nutshell's first international guest Krafty Kuts who will appear early in the new year.

Entry to Nutshell is $15 and tickets can be purchased from The Cambridge, PDMS or Abicus.
