BEFORE he went on to form LITTLE RIVER BAND, English-born Australian icon GLENN SHORROCK performed in Melbourne 'beat group' THE TWILIGHTS in the 1960s. Performing at Phoenix on Saturday, July 22, Shorrock had hits such as NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE WAY I LIVE, CATHY COME HOME and YOUNG GIRL, before joining LRB in 1974. LRB went on to sell 25million albums worldwide.

HOME & AWAY: 'YOU know we belong together, you and I forever and ever.' The words remain the same, but three new voices, THE ROBERTSON BROTHERS (GEOFF, STUART and BEN), recently re-recorded the HOME & AWAY theme song, and have a hit of their own on the air. Performing at Phoenix on Saturday, June 10, The Robertson Brothers debuted at Number 40 in the national singles chart in December with a tune THE LAST LOVE SONG co-written by RICK PRICE. PENNY LESS: FRIDAY night's planned concert by PENNYWISE has been postponed until November due to illness, according to local promoters. The concert, due to go ahead at the Newcastle Workers Club, would also be staged at another venue.

COL'S BACK: VETERAN funnyman COL ELLIOT will tour the Hunter next month, taking in Muswellbrook Workers Club (June 23), Toronto Workers Club (June 24), Maitland City Bowling Club (June 25), Newcastle Workers Club (June 30), Belmont 16 Footers (July 1) and Cessnock Supporters Club (July 2).

IRISH LADS: AUSTRALIA'S favourite Irishmen FOSTER & ALLEN will perform at the Newcastle Workers Club on Monday, June 12. The duo has come a long way since it first released A BUNCH OF THYME - this tour will be the duo's 25th year in show business together.
