Who: DTY
Where: Club Phoenix
When: Thursday March 9, 2000

Newcastle trio DTY has begun recording a CD with HUMAN NATURE producers, from which one song has already piqued the interest of entertainment guru MOLLY MELDRUM. DTY, playing tomorrow night at Phoenix and Friday night at Newcastle Workers Club, sing three-part harmonies in the style of THE EAGLES, AMERICA, HUMAN NATURE and the BACKSTREET BOYS. One of the trio's first recordings THE SWEETEST TOUCH was added to Meldrum's 'HIT PICKS' for the month of February at the website www.mp3.com.au. The song can be downloaded from the internet using a personal computer. The trio's managers LET'S TALK ENTERTAINMENT said the CD should be out by April. DTY is vocalists/instrumentalists DAMIEN COTTON, TY HAMILTON and YIANNI MORATIDIS. JET GUESTS: ZANY minstrels LOONATIC FRINGE had a notable set of tonsils behind the microphone for them at a recent Nag's Head performance. SCREAMING JETS front man DAVE GLEESON, reportedly in Newcastle for a bucks show obliged the Loonies duo of DAVE CARTER and PAUL ELLIOT with a rendition of an ELVIS classic, as well as some backing vocals on a few more songs, to an ecstatic audience. Catch the Loonies this Friday night, sans Dave, at Adamstown RSL Club.

HUDSON DANCE STUDIO will be running NEWCASTLE DANCE 2000
