JUDITH DURHAM and the SEEKERS will bring their CARNIVAL OF HITS to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre next month as part of a major national tour.
The group started touring in New Zealand last month and will travel the country before heading overseas in May-June.
THE CARNIVAL OF HITS TOUR 2000 reunites the Australian singing icons for a series of limited concerts throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Due to popular demand the original line-up features singer Judith Durham, Athol guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley.
THE SEEKERS will entertain fans for more than two hours in a special concert, performing hits like THE CARNIVAL IS OVER and GEORGIE GIRL. It was classic hits like these which helped put THE SEEKERS and Australia on the international world music map in the 1960s.
Gold and platinum albums, sell-out concert tours, television specials and international awards soon followed.
THE SEEKERS also received the Australian of the Year award in 1967.
But the run of success didn't stop here, it continued well into the 1990s, with more than 200 sold-out tours in 1995.
TE has a double pass to THE SEEKERS to give away. To enter, mail an envelope with your name, address and phone number on the back to THE SEEKERS giveaway, PO Box 615, Newcastle 2300, or enter on-line at www.nnp.com.au
