HE'S back this week and next week, for only two Newcastle shows, and he's bringing his 10-piece band with him.!
The man with the golden larynx is NEIL DIAMOND, aka TYRONE PENSHORN. Penshorn, better known as the front man of LITTLE HORNET, will perform his legendary Diamond Tribute Show this Sunday at Fanny's from 7.30pm and on Sunday, October 17, at Phoenix, complete with windmill-arm-swinging guitar style.
'It's heaps of fun because these shows are it,' an excited Ty said last week. 'We only do three for the year so it's time to get the glitter shirt out of the cupboard!'
The NEIL DIAMOND SHOW backing group features the four-piece COMMITMENTS horn section, NATALIE ROWATT on backing vocals, RUPERT JENNER from Little Hornet on guitar, STEVEN FULLER on drums, SIMON ENDERSBY on bass guitar and musical director LUKE PARRAMORE. In the past, crowds have flocked to hear Penshorn belt out his Neil Diamond set drawn by the singer's uncanny ability to mimic Diamond's pitch, phrasing, intonation - and stage moves!
Last year's show at Phoenix was a sell-out, so audiences are advised to get in early if they are hoping to catch the 90-minute showcase of Diamond's greatest hits.
Tickets to Sunday night's Fanny's show will go on sale at the door from 8pm.
A third show, on Saturday, October 16, will take place outdoors at Sydney's Darling Harbour. TE
