Country Siren

Who: Anne Kirkpatrick
Where: Club Phoenix
When: Sunday May 9, 1999

THE latest CD by ANNE KIRKPATRICK features a wry track CHANGE YOUR NAME based on her observations in the music industry over the years.

As the daughter of country music icon SLIM DUSTY however, Kirkpatrick doesn't need to change her name to be recognised.

Performing this Sunday at Club Phoenix with MITCHELL SHADLOW, Kirkpatrick has a new CD CRY LIKE A MAN out now on ABC RECORDS. The title track was written by her mother JOY MCKEAN in the 1960s 'as an anthem for all mothers and children'.

Joining Kirkpatrick on stage as a backing band will be CHAD WACKERMAN on drums, CHRIS HAIG on bass, COLIN WATSON on electric guitar, ROD MCCORMACK on acoustic rhythm and lead guitar, LARRY MUHOBERAC on accordion and keyboards and MICHAEL ROSE on steel, dobro and slide guitar.

Kirkpatrick will also be backed by an all-male vocal group she's dubbed 'the blokes choir' featuring MARK PUNCH and JAMES GILLARD. TE
