When: Saturday February 11, 2006

BRITISH ex-pat Alan Thompson will be back at King Street Hotel on Saturday night delivering one of his signature house sets.

Thompson describes his style as ``diverse''.

, will return on Saturday night. ``Essentially [I play] house, sometimes vocal, sometimes deep, sometimes tribal but always funky,'' Thompson said.

``I've always had very diverse musical tastes and what I play largely depends on the crowd I'm playing to or the club that I'm playing at.'' Thompson racked up an enviable list of residencies at clubs across the UK and Europe before making the move Down Under, with frequent gigs at Defected and Ministry of Sound in London and Ibiza, The End in London, and Le Queen in Paris.

Touring took him far and wide with appearances in many countries including Japan, China, Russia, Canada, Israel, Lebanon and South Africa. Thompson reckons he wouldn't give up his career for anything.''I consider myself very lucky to be able to do what I enjoy most, play house music to like minded people.``I'm at my happiest when I'm behind the decks DJing. For me there is nothing more exciting.'' He holds residencies at a handful of Sydney venues including DTPM, Defected In The House, Odyssey and The Laundry, and mixed Ministry of Sound's Clubbers Guide to 2005 compilation.
