AMERICAN Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is set to perform in Newcastle as part of her upcoming Australian tour.
Tickets to Clarkson's concert at Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Friday, November 18 go on sale today.
Clarkson has dominated Australian charts since the release of her album Breakaway which has spawned the hits Behind These Hazel Eyes, Since U Been Gone and Breakaway. Breakaway is still firmly lodged in the ARIA national top 10 almost 40 weeks after its release and is on its way to triple- platinum sales.
Clarkson made her first visit to Australia in September 2003 for a promo trip on the back of her debut album Thankful which debuted on the US Billboard chart at number one and launched the singles Miss Independent and Low. Since then she has continued to mature as a writer and performer, co- writing six songs on Breakaway. Earlier this month Clarkson scooped the MTV Awards taking out Best Pop Video and Best Female Video and closing the show with a performance of Since U Been Gone. She will tour Australia for the first time on her Breakaway Tour which will take in nine shows across the country before finishing in Newcastle.
