TWO promising Newcastle bands are set to take their show on the road.
The Looks and The Wireflys have joined forces for an 11-show tour that will take in 11 shows along the east coast. Taking their sounds to new ears, the tour will venture as far north as Brisbane and south down to Melbourne. The Looks are concentrating on playing live following the recent launch of their debut EP Looks Like . . . More than 600 people turned out in July when the band hosted EP launches in Newcastle and Armidale.
Drummer and vocalist Chris Jahnsen said the trio has had hooked up an online distribution deal through Chaos Music and was already making preparations for a follow- up recording.
Like The Looks, The Wireflys have also been busy recording and are anticipating the release of their first single Insane. Formerly known as Tone Orange then The Hazy Jaynes, The Wireflys have been building a presence on the live front with recent shows in Newcastle and Sydney.
The band plays at the Cambridge Hotel tonight and Maitland's Grand Junction Hotel on Friday.
