FRESH from a tour covering Europe and the UK, Liz Frencham is working her way around Australia promoting the release of her album Jericho. After playing a string of well-received shows in Western Australia, Frencham has travelled east and will launch the new record at the Lass O'Gowrie tonight.
Probably best known for her role as a member of Sydney band Jigzag, Frencham is also an experienced session double-bassist and vocalist who has been employed by everyone from The W s to English folk artists Chris While and Julie Matthews. Her natural habitat, however, is on stage.
She has become an audience favourite on the festival circuit, whether performing alone, with Jigzag or US-based songwriter Fred Smith. Musicians haven't been able to resist her charms either, with Ricky Scaggs, Ember Swift and Tony McManus all having previously collaborated with her.
She teamed with a rich variety of musicians on her album including W s drummer David Ross Macdonald, Sydney jazz pianist Michael Bartholomei and rising singer-songwriter Jodi Martin. Doors open at 8.30pm and entry is free.
