HOMEGROWN hip-hop night Mindstate will spread its wings this week when it hosts an event at Sydney's Manning Bar. Mindstate has brought many of the biggest names in Aussie hip- hop to the stage at The Bandroom at Newcastle Leagues Club during the past 18 months including Koolism, Butterfingers and Combat Wombat. One of the event's most popular acts, Resin Dogs, will headline this week's two Mindstate gigs.
Resin Dogs will perform in Sydney tomorrow before heading to Newcastle Leagues Club on Friday night.
Their brief tour will take in five dates up the coast and follows the band's recent slot supporting UK hip-hop act Roots Manuva on their Australian tour.
Prior to that the group was in Europe for a month-long tour during which they performed before big crowds in Hungary, Scotland and the UK.
Since their formation in 1996, Resin Dogs have blitzed almost every major Australian festival and scooped a stack of awards including three Australian Dance Music Awards for Best Hip-Hop Act and Best Live Act.
Their attack on the overseas market comes after almost 10 years spent making a name for themselves as arguably the most exciting live hip-hop act in Australia.
Joining Resin Dogs at the Mindstate shows will be Melbourne's TZU and Sydney's Good Buddha. Tickets will be available at the door.
