Spit And Polish In Intimate Show

Who: The Temperance Union
Where: Northern Star Hotel
When: Saturday March 26, 2005

DAVEY Lane isn't the only member of You Am I out doing his own thing.

Like Lane, who recently wrapped up recording his debut album with rock trio The Pictures, You Am I frontman Tim Rogers continues to move along with his solo side project The Temperance Union. Comprising Rogers, Ian Kittney, Shane O'Mara and Stuart Speed, the band will perform an intimate gig at the Northern Star Hotel on Saturday night before heading to Sydney to play the inaugural Cockatoo Island Festival on Sunday.

Rogers released a debut album, Spit Polish with the group last year, following a couple of earlier solo releases in his career.

But it doesn't spell the end of You Am I, even after Rogers' much- publicised display at the Tasmanian leg of The Falls festival earlier this year, during which he stormed off the stage.

Rumour had it that the band was on its last legs but Rogers insisted that's not the case.

He said the four of them had recently begun working on a new album, although he did not know what label it would be released through, following the band's split from BMG. Tickets cost $20 and will be available at the door on the night from around 9.30pm, so be early to avoid disappointment.
