CROSS the words amputee and beauty and you might come up with something along the lines of ``ampeauty''.
Well, that's what Austrian death metal outfit Pungent Stench seem to think anyway after branding their latest album with the bizarre title.
The arrival of the album has paved the way for another tour of Australia which began in Perth last week and will bring the three- piece to the Cambridge Hotel tomorrow night.
The word is Pungent Stench will play many of the tunes which earned it a reputation as one of the industry's sickest bands including Same Shit, Different Asshole and No Guts, No Glory. Formed in 1988 by Alex Wank (Mr. Stench) on drums, Jacek Perkowski (Pitbull Jack) on bass and Martin Schirenc (El Cochino) on vocals and guitars, the band released a string of controversial albums before taking an eight-year break and returning in 2001 with a new batch of songs and a new bassist.
Pungent Stench recently completed a European tour which included appearances at festivals such as The Party.San in Germany.
Advance tickets cost $25 plus a booking fee from the venue, Beaumont Street Beat, The Rock Shop and Soundworld , or $28 at the door.
