Little Birdy Set To Make Big Noises

Who: Little Birdy, Bob Evans, Tegan and Sara
Where: University - Bar on the Hill
When: Wednesday August 17, 2005

THIS year looks set to be the biggest yet for Perth pop band Little Birdy. Things were already on the boil in January with a national run as part of Big Day Out. This was closely followed by another national tour supporting American heavyweights REM. To top things off, Little Birdy's debut album BigBigLove has reached gold status.

The quartet recently took time out of its schedule to spend three months working on new songs.

Singer and chief songwriter Katy Steele found time to get some new material together by singing backstage while warming up for shows.

Now the band has knuckled down to add the finishing touches.

Next month Little Birdy will head back on the road to unleash the new tunes and, of course, perform some of the earlier numbers.

Little Birdy will play in Newcastle at the Bar on the Hill on August 17.

Joining Little Birdy will be Canadian two-piece Tegan and Sara and fellow WA muso Bob Evans, who is better known under the name Kevin Mitchell, as the frontman for Jebediah.

It will be Tegan and Sara's second visit to Australia, here to promote their latest album So Jealous. Their Australian tour comes on the back of recent shows across the US and the UK supporting The Killers and Weezer. Tickets are available online at bigtix.com.au
