Expect Mayhem At Crowned King

Who: Crowned King, Bagster, Draw the Line
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
When: Thursday July 28, 2005

ACCORDING to frontman Shaun Frank, a performance from Canadian group Crowned King can easily be described in one simple word - mayhem.

``Our music is like a punch to the face,'' Frank said.

``Our shows are a complete spectacle.

You can do pretty much whatever you want at a Crowned King show ...

and you should!'' Newcastle will have the chance to do just that when Crowned King perform at the Cambridge Hotel tomorrow night as part of their first Australian tour.

It's then on to Indonesia where the band will play three shows at the Soundrenaline Festival. Frank, alongside fellow Crowned King members Jonny Biggs (trombone), Ryan Delmaire (guitar), Adam Brown (bass) and Chris Lambert (drums) have been favourites on the Canadian music scene since the late '90s, winning fans with their blend of '70s rock, '80s punk and '90s garage.

Since 2003, when the band's sophomore album Break The Silence was released, Crowned King has played more than 350 shows in North America and supported the likes of The Distillers, Sum 41 and Jimmy Eat World. It will be their turn to headline when they perform tomorrow with Bagster and Draw the Line. Tickets cost $12 at the door.
