ON the eve of making its first appearance at next week's sold-out Splendour in the Grass festival at Byron Bay, Aussie hip-hop collective Kid Confucious will bring its show to Newcastle.
Together since 2001, Sydney-based Kid Confucious is a nine-piece soul and hip-hop band.
Carved out of the inner-city landscape and representing the diverse culture, the band stitches together these musical roots to form a collage of sound.
The band released its self-titled debut album earlier this year, a record filled with deep bass and big horns.
Renowned for its soulful music and high-energy live show, Kid Confucious is sure to warm things up when the band plays the Band Room @ Newcastle Leagues Club on Friday night. Catch Kid Confucious will play alongside Sydney hip-hop trio Hyjak N Torcha feat. Bonez and rising Newcastle outfit Local Knowledge. Tickets cost $10 and are on sale at threesixtysounds, PDMS, Ramjet and Volume or at the door on the night for $12.
