THE Australia Day celebrations will be in full swing around Newcastle Foreshore today with great entertainment.

Music can be enjoyed along Queens Wharf as THE SUE AND MIKEY SHOW hit the stage at THE BREWERY from 2pm.

The Sue and Mikey show is the result of years of collaboration between SUE CARSON and MICHAEL STOVE. Formerly The pair have worked together in a variety of musical unions, including their previous act the SUE CARSON DUO, the pair performs everything from classic ballads to rock, pop and Celtic.

Both artists have a long history in Newcastle's music scene.

Carson performed with folk and Celtic group SLIGO MAID and pop trio LOVE THAT HAT. She was voted best female vocalist at the 2003 1233 ABC Newcastle Music Awards.

She has a great range with an ability if to perform opera, musicals, theatre and band music and plays violin, mandolin and guitar.

Stove has been involved in a number of bands including SWANEE, THE CURVETTES, HUSSY and alongside Carson in LOVE THAT HAT and KILKENNY. He made a name for himself for his role as idiot frontman and quirky lead guitarist with the FUNBUSTERS. Stove plays lead guitarthat ranges from rock to Celtic and folk.
