YOU could almost say FREDDY CRICIEN was born to become part of New York's hardcore music scene.
At the age of seven Cricien made his stage debut at the legendary CBGB'S club in New York City where his older brother ROGER MIRET was playing in his band AGNOSTIC FRONT. Cricien was watching his brother's every move from the side of the stage and was called to join him.
The moment of truth arrived and in many ways it spelled the start of a life-long passion for Cricien.
He had not yet reached his teens when Cricien played his first show with band MADBALL in 1988.
By 1989 the band had released its first EP, Ball of Destruction, which gave Cricien a reason to take his show on the road.
Three years of hard work followed and in 1992 the band released the Droppin' Many Suckas EP.
Madball quickly earned a reputation as one of the fiercest live bands around, winning over punk and hardcore fans wherever they plugged in their instruments.
An Australian tour started last night and will arrive at the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL on Sunday evening with support from THE DEAD WALK and SHOT POINT BLANK. Tickets cost $20 and will be available at the door.
