KATE Monroe will be back on deck at King Street Hotel this weekend riding high on the launch of her Mat album series.
The Sydney-based DJ/producer released the underground house- themed record Mat White in September as a follow-up to the previous Mat Black .
Mat White demonstrates Monroe's versatility as she ramps up the pace with her big dance-floor sound.
``I love Mat Black . I'm really proud of its vibe and the way people have responded to it but Mat White takes it up an extra gear or five,'' Monroe said.
``It's the sound of that accidental big night out or the one you've been planning for months.'' Mat White features a few well-known numbers including the Andy Van remix of Your Body as well as more obscure tracks.
Monroe says she ``searched the world'' for the latest quality house tracks including tunes from Groove Junkies, Made & Sax and Dajae. Created under Monroe's own label, Mat Recordings, Mat White is the second CD in a three-volume series.
Monroe plans to unleash a chill-out style album next year.
With Monroe's demanding approach to her music and attention to detail, spending time in the studio perfecting the mixing and sound of the tracks was paramount.
