INSPIRED by a recent gig from Sydney beat- makers Sneaky Sound System, a group of Newcastle musicians have teamed to form Groove Relations. Following the new trend of live dance acts, Groove Relations performs funky house- style tunes using both modern electronic equipment and traditional acoustic instruments.
With the addition of some smooth vocals, Groove Relations has emerged with a fresh sound for Newcastle's live scene.
Punters would be familiar with members Jacky Gill (vocals), Matt `Kavon' Gill (turntables), Louis Gill (bass), Bernie Grace (saxophone) and Shalyn Grey, (percussion) who have all played around town in various incarnations.
Groove Relations will play a fortnightly residency at The Brewery every second Wednesday, playing tonight and April 20.
