AT the age of 14 Pete Cornelius was already carving out a professional career as a musician.
Now aged 21, Cornelius has since built an envious reputation as a fine blues musician.
With his band the DeVilles, Cornelius has played most major festivals around Australia. and completed a US tour in 2003. These include the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival, Broadbeach Blues Festival and The Forth Valley Blues Fest. Overseas touring proved a memorable experience for the group after it played The Prairie Dog Blues Festival in Wisconsin, following it with shows in and around Minnesota, Iowa and Texas.
On home soil, Cornelius has been developing a reputation as a true bluesman and recently recorded with Chicago blues veteran Steve Arvey. The two blues fanatics teamed to record and release the album Freerange.
He will team with Arvey again for a performance at the Gallipoli Legion Club on Sunday night.
