THE search for to uncover Newcastle's ultimate man begins this week at FANNY'S . ULTIMATE MAN 2004 will be held every Friday night.
Five heats and two semifinals will be held before the grand final on November 26.
Contestants will be judged in two sections: formal and casual wear.
``We're looking for an outstanding male, who is intelligent, approachable, with a fabulous personality and individual style, in essence,'' Fanny's promotions manager STEVEN KEKOVSKI said.
``It is a search for the ultimate man who possesses all the qualities and charisma expected by the female population.'' He said it was not model search or a body-building contest but a quest for male excellence from a woman's point of view.
About four contestants from each heat will progress to the semifinals.
Contestants will be required to perform a three-minute act in both sections in the grand final.
They will be encouraged to develop a theme incorporating their outfit, music and props.
Kekovski said the section allowed the finalists to show their individuality, creativity and hidden talents. Entrants must be over 18 years to enter and previous modelling or catwalk experience is not necessary.
Entrants will be judged on their selection of clothing, personality, grooming and overall presentation.
The prize pool is more than $20,000, including $3000 cash for first place.
