Two Mcs, One DJ Prove To Be A1

Who: Bliss N Eso
Where: Fanny's
When: Friday September 17, 2004

BLISS N ESO is the latest Aussie hop hop outfit on the scene.

Comprising two MCs and one DJ, Bliss N Eso released its debut album, Flowers In the Pavement, last month through OBESE RECORDS .

The track Rubbed The Lamp The Wrong Way has gained high rotation on TRIPLE J but success for the band has not come overnight.

Formed in 1998, MCs Bliss and Eso met at high school where they were the ``only two dudes rapping at the bus stop''.

Determination and a strong will to have their music heard by the masses paid off and they have since supported some of the biggest names in hip hop such as JURASSIC 5, THE ROOTS, BLACK EYED PEAS, BLACKALICIOUS and DJ SHADOW. Proving it could cater for any crowd, Bliss N Eso performed at last year's AUSTRALIAN MISS WORLD finals.

Flowers In The Pavement is the first long-player from Bliss N Eso and follows the release of the 1998 EP The Arrival. Taking inspiration from the funk traditions set by the legendary PARLIAMENT, Flowers On the Pavement not only includes beats but melodic accordions, hypnotic synths and multi-octave singing and chanting.

A Moroccan influence heard on the track Rubbed The Lamp The Wrong Way was introduced by band DJ IZM, which is half-Moroccan.

Bliss N Eso is on a national tour to launch the album and will perform at FANNY'S on Friday night with support from DJ NAIKI. Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets will be available at the door.
