NEW YORK outfit MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD will perform in Newcastle this weekend as part of its COMPASSION OVER FASHION Australian tour.
The band got together in Brooklyn during the summer of 2000, formed from the ashes of respected hardcore act INDECISION. After Indecision's unexpected final show at a biker bar in El Paso, Texas, members RACHEL ROSEN and JUSTIN BRENNAN drove back to New York independently of the rest of the band.
By the time they reached the city, they had decided to put together a new act.
It was decided to build Most Precious Blood from the ground up by recording a demo and playing small shows, before launching into an album.
Focusing on a stripped-down sound reminiscent of the scene the band members grew up in, Most Precious Blood was poised to carry the torch of New York's new hardcore generation. The band wears its influences proudly on its sleeve, citing everyone from AGNOSTIC FRONT, UNBROKEN and SICK OF IT ALL to OUTSPOKEN, THE CRO-MAGS and UNDERTOW as major influences.
Since the release of its latest album, Our Lady Of Annihilation , the band has been on the road.
Most Precious Blood plays the Cambridge Hotel on Friday night with SHOT POINT BLANK and THE DEAD WALK.
