ONE of Britain's most popular club nights will open its doors in Newcastle this weekend.
BLOWPOP will adopt the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL as its new home when the monthly event debuts with a stellar line- up of local, national and international DJs.
Blowpop originated in the UK in the mid-1990s and has grown to become the most respected breaks night in the country.
It wasn't long before the rest of the world caught on and Blowpop was brought to Australia last year.
Blowpop has found just as much success since setting up camp in Sydney at THE WORLD BAR in Kings Cross where monthly parties are held.
Newcastle breakbeat lovers can look forward to a feast of tunes when Blowpop is held in two rooms at the Cambridge Hotel on Friday night.
DJs include KLAUS HEAVYWEIGHT HILL, BASS KLEPH, JESSICA JOY, PRICE CUTS, STREET PUNX, DJ NAKED, MATHMATICS, SKOOB and many more.
Organisers said a variety of big names had been confirmed to play in Newcastle over the coming months including MALENTE, CUT LE ROC, DEADLY AVENGER and TAYO. Doors open at 9pm and tickets will be available at the door for $15.
