VITALBEATS will move from the MERCURY HOTEL to a new base at the KING STREET HOTEL when the dance party returns on March 20.

Organiser GEORGE PATSAN said the move is the next big step for Vitalbeats which started out in 2000.

Vitalbeats has welcomed big-name international and national guest DJs and live electronic acts to Newcastle in the past four years, reating an avenue for local talent to be nurtured along the way.

Patsan said the move to King Street Hotel was part of a new initiative to introduce the event to different venues around the city throughout 2004.

`We decided to move Vitalbeats for a change,'' Patsan said.

`We have been at the Mercury for two years it was time well overdue and a new direction was needed.'' Renowned for providing Newcastle's dance music scene with an eclectic choice, Patsan said Vitalbeats would continue to offer a healthy balance of styles. ``Every Vitalbeats will be changing the style of music to whatever we feel is complementary to the venue.'' Future plans include a special two-day celebration on Anzac Day weekend, spreading the event across the GATEWAY HOTEL and King Street Hotel.

The March 20 launch will be held in conjunction with the huge TRANSMISSION dance parties to provide two rooms covering house, tribal, breaks, hardstyle and progressive trance.

It will feature headline performances from international guest DJ WAG of YAZOOKA fame and DJ NERVOUS alongside 12 of Newcastle's finest DJs.

Pre-sale tickets are $20 and are available from PDMS, RAMJET, ABICUS, OVERT CLOTHING and SIMPLY SPICE RESTAURANT or $25 on the door.
