NEWCASTLE'S premier dance music events will go head- to-head on Australia Day, bringing together an eclectic selection of the city's best DJs to the KING STREET HOTEL .
VITALBEATS ' GEORGE PATSAN and NUTSHELL BREAKS ' DAN MATTHEWS have combined the two events to present a special series of shows featuring resident DJs playing back-to-back.
``Nutshell and Vitalbeats have gathered the best DJs from Nutshell and Vitalbeats to celebrate Australia Day,'' Patsan said.
``The first event will be held in the Nutshell home court at the King Street Hotel and then followed up later with the second round at Vitalbeats' home court at the Mercury Hotel.
'' NUTSHELL VS VITALBEATS will feature DJs playing across two rooms with MARK N, SKOOBY, TONE and MATHMATICS serving up a mix of hip- hop and drum'n'bass on Level One .
Level Two will see DJs battle it out with PATSAN vs AUXILARY , KATO vs SCOTT BEKER and MATT MANDELL vs FALLON .
Both Nutshell Breaks and Vitalbeats have played an integral role in the growth of Newcastle's thriving dance music scene over the past three years.
As well as working to establish the region's own talent, Nutshell and Vitalbeats have brought major Australian and international names to Newcastle such as NUBREED, POUND SYSTEM, FREQ NASTY, KRAFTY KUTS and SOUL OF MAN .
``This will be a first for Newcastle to enjoy two events in one, plus enjoy a variety of dance music styles to welcome Australia Day.
