LISTENERS will have the chance to get a taste of what the 3RD ANNUAL NEWCASTLE BLUES FESTIVAL has to offer when local artist ERIC BLUES plays live on 1233 ABC NEWCASTLE on Friday afternoon.
Blues whose real name is ERIC COLLIER will perform a selection of original tunes from 3pm before appearing at the Blues Festival from Friday to Sunday. The event will return to the MAYFIELD HOTEL and organisers are expecting thousands to turn out for the event. Eric Blues is one of the many acts performing at the festival.
Blues has been performing locally for many years. He began penning his own material a decade ago, discovering his passion for acoustic music.
He plays both solo and with the duos BLUES AND BOOMER and NO LIMITS. He cemented his status as one of the region's premier original blues musicians at the 1233 ABC NEWCASTLE MUSIC AWARDS in 2003 when he picked up the gong for Best Blues and Roots.
Blues who said he drew his inspiration from ROBERT JOHNSON, ERIC CLAPTON, JEFF LANG and BEN HARPER will perform solo this weekend.
Also on the bill is ALICE STUART, COLLARD GREENS & GRAVY, PHIL EDGELEY, TAILRAGGERS, THE BREWSTER BROTHERS, DARREN JACK, WILDFLOWER and others.
