AT the tender age of 20 Novocastrian singer-songwriter BROOKE HARVEY is already a veteran of the music world.

Since she was discovered during TRIPLE J 's UNEARTHED competition at age 14 Harvey has established herself as one of the country's most promising young musicians.

As well as being unearthed, Harvey's career highlights have included sharing the stage with the likes of FRED EAGLESMITH, KIM RICHEY, JIM LAUDERDALE and JASON McCOY .

Drawing inspiration from artists such as LUCINDA WILLIAMS, KIMMY RHODES, BONNIE RAITT, SHERYL CROW and ALANIS MORISSETTE , Harvey's songwriting and vocal style produces a unique sound.

She has already won the support of some of the biggest names in the Australian country music industry including GINA JEFFREYS and ROD McCORMACK .

KASEY CHAMBERS has described Harvey as ``a great up-and- coming songwriter with an incredibly unique voice''.

As well as performing songs from her growing back catalogue of original tunes, Harvey covers a wide variety of tunes.

The artists she covers includes MICHELLE BRANCH, CROWDED HOUSE, MELISSA ETHERIDGE, LUCINDA WILLIAMS, TRACEY CHAPMAN, PAUL KELLY and NEIL YOUNG .

Harvey performs as a soloist regularly around the Hunter and also plays in the popular duo COSY VELOUR with fellow Novocastrian DAMIAN FRASER who accompanies her on vocals, African and Egyptian drums.

Harvey will perform solo at the PHEONIX SPORTS CLUB on Friday, SALAMANDER SHORES on Saturday and PRINCE OF WALES HOTEL on Sunday.
