Who: Phil Smart, Kato, Auxilary
Where: QWB - Queens Wharf Brewery
When: Sunday February 29, 2004

AFTER playing at last month's GOOD VIBRATIONS festival in Sydney alongside MOLOKO and BLACKALICIOUS , PHIL SMART will return to his favourite Newcastle haunt at THE BREWERY this weekend.

Smart is back to play SUNDAY HARBOUR BEATS and will arrive armed with a brand new track which has had scored airplay on TRIPLE J. Smart teamed up with POCKET one half of production team POXY MUSIC to record the track Kickflip Manual. The track is featured on a new compilation album titled Return of The Boom Shwack, a collection of tracks from Australian and New Zealand artists pieced together by New Zealand breaks purveyor TIMMY SCHUMACHER.

For 15 years Smart has retained his reputation as one of Australia's most eclectic DJs and producers.

'I've always just loved music of all sorts and have a passion for exposing people to new sounds,'' Smart said.

``Even in school I'd make up tapes of new music I'd discovered and try to get my friends to listen.'' Smart was voted Australian DJ of The Year at the DANCE MUSIC AWARDS in 2000 and appeared twice in DJ MAGAZINE 's list of the worlds Top 100 DJs.

Rating JOHN DIGWEED, SASHA, SUGAR RAY and PHIL K among his favourite DJs, Smart's own style draws on influences of electro, tec-house and breakbeat.

Catch Smart at Sunday Harbour Beats this weekend with support resident DJs KATO and AUXILARY. Entry is free.
