THOSE who saw MR BUNGLE play at FANNY'S in 2000 may recall the band's support act NEIL HAMBURGER.
The US comedian is back in Australia and will appear at the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL on Saturday from 8pm.
Hamburger said Novocastrians could expect a wild show that would include a guest appearance from Melbourne magician DR EL SUAVO .
``He's actually gonna saw a woman's head off on stage and then after my set we're gonna have the murder trial and sentence him and that will go on all night long,'' Hamburger said.
``Then we'll bring in a mobile prison that he will be enslaved in for the rest of his life, so it should be a wild show.'' For almost 15 years Hamburger has been touring, earning a reputation as one of the world's quirkiest comics.
Hamburger said he found Australian crowds to be some of the best.
``The people here have a deeper, louder laugh than in other places.
``You tell a joke and sometimes the walls actually shake from the depth and intensity of these folk's laughter and in my job, that's great.'' His audiences have not always been so receptive though.
He completed a disastrous tour of Malaysia which was documented in a short film titled Left For Dead In Malaysia.
Hamburger has released a DVD, Live at The Phoenix Greyhound Park , through THE VANDALS ' Kung Fu label, named Best Comedy DVD of 2003 by ALTERNATIVE PRESS.
