THE WHITLAMS frontman TIM FREEDMAN has announced he will embark on a solo tour throughout September and October.
Freedman will play intimate venues around the country to launch the band's new DVD, which is set for release in September.
The tour begins after a full-band show with the 80-piece QUEENSLAND YOUTH ORCHESTRA at the BRISBANE RIVER FESTIVAL on Sunday, September 5.
The live shows will feature guests such as DAVE McCORMACK of CUSTARD fame and CHARLES JENKINS of ICE CREAM HANDS.
A two-disc set, the DVD compiles a comprehensive look at behind the scenes and documentary footage from 1992 to 2004, with a retrospective of film clips, gigs and television performances.
The nine-month process of putting together the DVD has stirred memories in Freedman that will ensure plenty of chat from stage, as well as the rendering of songs from the Whitlams' five albums.
Freedman will perform at the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL on Saturday, September 25.
Advance tickets cost $20 from the venue, SOUNDWORLD, THE ROCK SHOP and BEAUMONT ST BEAT, or $25 on the door.
