Who: MC Scribe
Where: Fanny's
When: Friday August 20, 2004

NEW Zealand MC SCRIBE is the voice behind one of the biggest hip hop hits of the year, Not Many. The track has become a staple at nightclubs across the country and cracked the ARIA Top 40 chart.

Newcastle will welcome the man behind the music when top New Zealand DJ and producer P-MONEY plays FANNY'S on Friday night.

Regarded as the hottest hip hop producer in New Zealand today, P-Money's production credits span four multi-platinum albums, three gold albums and, of course, hit single Not Many .

A hit in Australia, it also held the number one position for a record- breaking 12 weeks in New Zealand.

But success is nothing new to P-Money.

He was crowned New Zealand DJ champion for three consecutive years, and in 2001 he came equal third at the TECHNICS DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS alongside KENTARO. From first making his name in the industry through DJ competitions and student radio, P-Money has established himself as one of the most prominent figures in New Zealand's thriving hip-hop scene.

He also works behind the scenes as co-owner and director of Auckland independent record company DIRTY RECORDS, which made its first release in 2003 with the album Scribe - The Crusader. The album made New Zealand music history, with Scribe becoming the country's first artist to achieve a number one single and number one album simultaneously.

As well as producing, P-Money is regarded as one of New Zealand's best club DJs and is renowned for spinning up the latest club tracks alongside hip-hop classics.

His six-year career has seen him play in the US, UK, Europe, Australia and extensively throughout New Zealand, sharing the stage with 50 CENT, DE LA SOUL, PUBLIC ENEMY and MIX MASTER MIKE. P-Money is busy recording a new album for Dirty Records titled The Magic City , featuring all new songs from SCRIBE, SKILLZ, CAPONE, ROC RAIDA and others.
