BONDI band COG are encouraging fans to get along early to their Newcastle show tomorrow night to catch a screening of JOHN PILGER 's documentary, Breaking The Silence .
Looking at the truth and lies about the war on terrorism, the 45-minute film will screen before the band hits the BAR ON THE HILL stage at NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY. The show is one of a limited string of dates the band has announced as they wait to re-enter the studio to complete work on their forthcoming debut album.
Cog which comprises of frontman FLYNN GOWER, drummer LUCIUS BORICH, and bass player LUKE GOWER are searching for a producer for the album.
``I think we're trying to take the best parts that really worked for us on the last two EPs and capitalise on them,'' Borich said earlier this year.
``I think the TOOL comparisons will truly be wiped out, that's something we've been very conscious about.
``But the dynamics of Cog are still very much the same.'' Both Cog EPs Just Visiting Part 1 and Just Visiting Part 2 , as well as the single Open Up , have been in and out of the ARIA Top 20 Hard Rock and Metal charts for the past 18 months.
Borich said there was still no release date for the album, but the band hoped to have it out by the end of this year.
Cog will be supported by SET AT EASE and SLEIGHT OF HAND tomorrow night.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are $8 for students or $12 for guests.
