NEW Zealand's EVERMORE is back on Australian soil for its third tour in less than two years to support the release of its latest EP My Own Way .

It follows the trio's debut EP, Oil and Water , which has already sold 5000 copies in Australia, a feat that the band's youngest member DANN HUME is still trying to comprehend.

``I was surprised that we had sold 5000 copies,'' Hume said.

``I wasn't aware until someone told me and I couldn't believe it because 5000 is kind of the size of Feilding (Evermore's hometown), really.

'' The positive response from Australian fans has also been felt among industry bigwigs from the US who invited the band to play a showcase gig at the SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST music co erence in March.

Evermore's style of melodic pop made such an impression that it was invited to perform throughout the US, Canada and the UK during a whirlwind tour that took less than a month.

It added to a year of hard work and success for the band which comprises brothers JON, PETER and DANN HUME aged 19, 17 and 16 respectively.

``I don't know what you consider lucky, but it has been going at a nice pace.

``We started out jamming and writing songs because we weren't really good at anything else.

``We built our studio at home but it just keeps growing.

It started as a little room and then we needed to fit the drum kit in so we had to bust down another wall .

Luckily, the boys' parents have been happy to help them.

``Our parents put up with a lot but they're very tolerant.

They're not musicians but they're very supportive.

'' Catch Evermore at the NORTHERN STAR HOTEL tomorrow night with Perth's THE PANICS and Melbourne's ANDROMEDA.
